EN BURGER, DER HOLDER MAX!

flag gbWhat a PERFECT day! Winter is over, spring is in the air.

I got a new (secret) part in an international film (cant tell you more for now – but it is NICE!!! And I have to go to the other side of the globe to shoot it). I will tell you ALL about it when time comes, and I am allowed to.

The US movie I got a part in after the casting in Hollywood, is now aiming higher, going for a larger budget to make it better, which is great even if it means it will be postponed. If you would like to invest please contact Tino Struckmann.

I have been called to the 2nd casting for another part in a Danish movie – but I know there will be many more before they decide, and there are hundreds of kids applying for that part,  so it might be far fetched to think I´ll get i, but as allways I´ll do my best. :Dtoke max front lb

I have been out on my BMX all day. It was SO nice to be out and about on the bike with out freezing the bud off, I have been missing that and it build up a good appetite. Luckily I had been invited to come to the opening of my FAVORITE burger chain from Sweden: MAX!

It was a red carpet champagne and all you can eat event. This new – and first – restaurant in Denmark is placed in the very center of Copenhagen on Nytorv. In the summer it will have a big outdoor area on the square, and I am looking forward to hanging out there checking out people in the sun.

As a bonus a lot of my friends was there too. The Pixel.tv guys Thomas Bense and Nicolas Estrup with whom I have made pixel.tv for 5 years was there filming the event for their production company SNURBART. You can see some of the stuff by CLICKING HERE.

Jonas Schmidt was there too flipping burgers. He made a commercial with my dad years ago. If you want to see it CLICK HERE.

Ozzy and Oliver Bjerrehuus came directly from their break on the Canarie Ilsands, and dad and I walked Ozzy home after, as Ollie had to go to Jylland on a job.

We all enjoyed the burgers fries  softdrinks and ice. But my little sister Holly had a ball with the ballons.

See you there soon!

flag dk FED dag!

Harlem Shake

flag gbHave you heard about The Harlem Shake? You must have… If not, let me be the one to introduce it to you. toke shake jaft

A friend of mine has got a T-shirt shop in the shopping area of Copenhagen, JAFT 1962 (Just a Fucking T-shirt), and has made “Harlem Shake” Tees. So to get awareness about it we made a Harem Shake event out side the shop yesterday.

And here is what it looked like. CLICK HERE

After I cruised the area with some of my sweet fans who had showed up to be in the Shake and my little sister Holly. She is the kid being thrown up to the left in the end. We went to all the toy stores for her, and this is Rikke and Nanna – and Teddy on the pic.

Natascha with whom I made the TV comidy Kristian with, and who is also doing a lot of acting on theatre and so also came and did the Shake.

Have fun – we did :)

flag dkHar du hørt om The Harlem Shake?

KLIK HER

Facebook Psychology and in the Box…

Detox, Beats by Dre
Detox, Beats by Dre

flag gbWhat a busy day! I have been up early – well, its Ok on at week day, so I wont bitch – and started the morning by visiting my Granny for breakfast. She has hurt her knee, so she is stuck in her flat, and we go and visit, for her not to feel alone. And it is always nice to visit her.

Then off to an early seminar at Social Media Week (See program HERE). I am attending a few of the events, and today it was “Facebook Psychology” at The Danish Design Centre, so now I know EVERYTHING about what´s inside your head MUHAAAAHHH!…

Well, it was a really good speaker. He was funny, sarcastic and interesting to listen to. And the place was packed with people, so it must have been a succes.

After the seminar I had promised Torben Reeslev to come to his jewellery store I St. Kongensgade. I

needed a new chain from his brand Nirwana. I fancied a black with purple and he had one made for me while we waited. I didn’t mind the waiting. I played with Oscar the puppy and checked out the other stuff he´s got there, like these skull cuffs (see pic down below). You just have to buy some more of my songs, so I can get them :)

And that was why I went straight to the studio to hook up with Valum at Industrien, where I was in the box recording for the next track. It was chill as always, and he had gotten these awesome Beats By Dre Detox head phones. They had really good sound and… Hey! It´s Dre. It HAS to be cool.

YOU will be the first to know when the track is out! I promise to post it here, on Facebook, Twitter and Instergram – but you knew that, didn´t you ;)

CASTINGS

flag gbI am often asked what it is like at a casting.

Well, its something between a lottery ticket and a job interview more than a contest or competition. There are no 2nd or 3rd place at a casting. There are no silver medal or pad on the shoulder from the Director or Critics for a good job done, if you after 7 or 8 castings of hard work are discarded. That is the hard and tough part of going to job interviews in Show Biz. So if you are not up to getting turned down time after time on something that you – or the director – cant change due to genetics, then stick to what you do now, and enjoy the finished results.

ellen
For this part at Hotel proforma I was called directly by Kirsten Delholm and offered the part with Ellen Hillingsø.

There are never two castings alike, but of course some things are good to remember every time. Be prepared. Be open minded, communicative and polite.

Mostly I am being called in by a caster or director who already knows me and my work (Denmark is not very big), and often they have send a manuscript up front for me to rehearse on for a specific part. When that happens I first have to read and analyse the part, and then memorize it until I can perform it naturally. That is the easy kind of castings, even though it is a lot of preparation. I have what my Mom calls a sticky brain, meaning I am good at memorizing which makes it easy for me to prepare for a part.

When you know what is expected and that you know your shit, it is more comfortable than coming to an open casting and being judged only by your age, hight or hair colour.

The open castings are HELL on Earth! It is often for more than one part so there can be thousands of kids showing up in all ages – AND their parents and siblings with them. It can be hours of waiting for your number to be called, and that will typically be 10 at a time. So you are called in 10 at a time in all shapes and ages, and then placed in front of a camera and asked to introduce your self in only like 15-30 seconds. And that is all you get to make an impression

Poster to "The Monster Hunters" (Monterjægerne)
Poster to “The Monster Busters” (Monterjægerne)

And then you have the waiting – goes for all types of castings. You mostly only get a call if you move on to the second casting or the next and next from that. I have sometimes been to 7-8 castings for the same part until the director has made his/her mind up, like for “Monsterjægerne” (The Monster Busters). When you have come to the further castings they normally call if you are out, but the longer you get, the higher the hopes, and then it can be annoying to be let down.

So I never take it personally if I don’t get a part. I know that it often isn’t who is the best actor, but who is better for the part in a bigger picture (haha). It might be because the mother has dark hair, or the father is more stoutly build, or both have brown eyes and you have blue. For the director it is a puzzle and you are only a very small part in it.

The most annoying is when you are being let down for being too famous or too good, and no, I am not making this up. I (and others I know too) have got this message several times. But one have to understand why, even if it is sometimes VERY hard. The director has to create a homogeneous team, and if one gets too much attention by e.g. having more experience, the others will look more like amateurs. Or having a big package of PR by, well – being you due to your earlier work, can create a problem too. Some think it is great and understands the possibilities in it, but others don’t, and so be it. I think every actor has tried this. My Dad who mostly gets part as biker or thug has been told he was too sophisticated for a part as hunter and so on. Every director (and caster) sees something different in you, and do not despair for being let down with a reason that you don’t understand. It doesn’t matter – though it sucks.

The best parts are when the director just calls up and offers the part, but there are lots of projects all over the world where you are not able to just go and join, and to get short casted for them (and at all castings today – Even for theatre parts) you do the castings in front of a camera. The caster makes a video and sends it to the director abroad. It is very unpersonal, but if you don´t impress on video, it is likely you wont on film either. Thats why its handy to have a Show Reel to send too. See mine HERE!

There are techniques that are helpful. You have to be able to show you are comfortable in front of the camera, and when asked to do crazy screaming or silly faces, then you do it like crazy on command with a smile, or cry with tears. And it takes practice to do that, and the best way to get that, is to do it at home, and at all the castings you get the chance to go to.

Practice makes perfect as they say. But most important: HAVE FUN!

Oscar and Golden Globe winner "In A Better World". I got the part from maybe 800 boys.
Oscar and Golden Globe winner “In A Better World”. I got the part from maybe 800 boys.

I speak for cartoons too, like Monkey brad in "Marco Macaco" 2012.
I speak for cartoons too, like Monkey brad in “Marco Macaco”.

Se min HER!

Men vigtigst: HAVE FUN!

Shooting a commercial on a Sunday

flag gbWhat a great weekend.

It was especially a fun Sunday, shooting a commercial for a Danish Labour Union, even though I had to get up WAY too early (and yes, I know I have complained about that before, but HEY… I´m a teenager. I like to sleep in on weekends, and today I had to get up at 6.30 AM. I HAVE to bitch a little about it ;)

8.30 in cold cold Cph in February.
8.30 in cold cold Cph in February.

Well, it wasn’t so bad, but it was really cold to pretend to play soccer at 8.30 AM in only sweat pants t shirt and a hoodie while slush ice was coming trembling down in -3C. I really hope the takes became good.

But the rest was indoors, and mostly my Dad shooting there, so I had time to check Instagram and Facebook while he was working. CLICK HERE to se a small video with my Dad from today.

And It will become a really fun commercial. But the best is that both Dad and I are in it, and we had a really fun day together with some great people and fine catering – the real reason to join Show Biz ;D

See you in a theatre near you ;)

I´m on FIRE!

flag gbHi Guys.

Sensation struck my block tonight, so I have to bring it to you here on this Blog too :)

The fire truck and police out side my building. I got my galaxy tablet with me out.
The fire truck and police out side my building. I got my galaxy tablet with me out.

Our next door neighbours kitchen lamp exploded and cough fire.

I was sitting with my family in the living room watching Big Brother when my Dad smelled smoke, and my parents went to see where it came from. Some of the other neighbours form upstairs was already in the staircase, but it was my mother who detected the smoke from the door next to ours, and called for the rest to come down. Normally there are fire detectors on the stair cases, but our building is getting renovated and they has been taken down. There has to start a fire when they are down! Murphys Law!

I am really glad to know my parents did´nt panic or any thing. They just calmly asked me and my sister to get dressed up warm and then my Dad who was only in his boxers – he is known for being a hero catching burglars in only his undies See HERE) kicked in the door to the flat after checking the door was´nt warm. Nobody was home. After kicking in the door Mom Dad and I made a water bucket chain of pots and bowls from our kitchen.

I packed all our PCs, phones and tablets real fast after dressing up – yeah, I know… I should have just rushed out, but we live on the 2nd floor, and my Mom was cool about it. My sister almost panicked though. She was afraid she could not take her new paper mache unicorn with her (Mom has made it for “Fastelavn” (the Danish carnival /equivalent to Halloween) tomorrow. Mom took it for her when the firemen arrived . They came here fast. The Fire House is only like 800m away.

So it was a couple of hours on the street until we were allowed back up to our flat. It smells a lot of smoke, but its OK now after all windows has been open for some time. Its just freezing. February in DK is f´ing cold!

Well we can sleep in our own beds tonight, but the neighbour and the upstairs neighbour from them have to stay at a hotel tonight… By second thought… That would have been nice too ;D
flag dkHey Venner.

Min søster gik næsten i panik.

3 Red Carpets with reviews

flag gbIt has been a busy week and weekend for me with 3 red carpet film events. One Disney: “Wrech-It Ralph” and two Danish movies: “Alle for To” (All for two) and “Otto Er Et Næsehorn” (Otto is a Rhino). vilde rolf

Wednesday was the night for “All for Two”. It is a follow up to “All for One”, a Comedy written and played by some of the best Stand Uppers in DK. The first was fun, but I must say the new is even better, and filmed/clipped SO much better than for normal Danish comedies. The newspaper and TV reviewers was rather hard on it and gave it down to 2 stars of 6, but I will give it 5, cuz the whole cinema was laughing hard all the way it was very well made. My friend

Morten, who is the tallest man in DK (2,19m) had a small part in it, and Kim Bodnia, with whom I have made e.g. “Den Som Dræber” (Those Who Kill) with and other collegues too, so it was extra fun to see them and to be there to celebrate the release.

Friday it was “Wrech-It Ralph” from Disney. Now, some think I have been bribed by Disney to give them great reviews. I wish I was, but they don’t have to to get my thumbs up. They just never seem to send out any thing not close to perfect. And I have to say the same for Ralph. I will give it 5 stars out of 6. It will for sure become one of the classics, and I will have to go and see it again with my sister soon.

Sunday (WAY too early! – 9 o’clock in the morning in the cinema…SIGH) was time for “Otto Is a Rhino” which is an animation film over a Danish classic children book by Ole Lund Kirkegaard (yes he could be related to THAT Kirkegaard, but with a whole other attitude to life!). I spoke the first part of the lead character for the animation people to animate from, and is also credited. I liked it, and the reason I only give it 3 stars out of 6 is because I have to compare to e.g. Disney, and it cant compete with that at all. But it was nice and especially for the younger kids, as my little sister was amused.

So for all of you going to the cinema in the up coming leave, have fun! There are good things to see out there.

En Disneys ”Vilde Rolf” og to danske film: ”Allé for to” og “Otto is a næsehorn”.
